Purnell's History of the First World War was a widely-read magazine released by Purnell & Sons Ltd during the mid-20th century, designed to make World War I history accessible to a broader audience. Edited by Barrie Pitt, with Liddell-Hart serving as editor-in-chief, this publication was created in partnership with the Imperial War Museum. I contributions from notable historians, scholars, and veterans. It is known for its exceptional photographs, illustrations, and diagrams, which were frequently compiled into volumes after the series concluded.
