A biography of group Captain Leonard Cheshire, VC. Cheshire was the outstanding bomber leader of the RAF in WWII, commanding the famous 617 Squadron. In 1944 he was awarded the Victoria Cross after completing a hundred bombing missions on heavily defended targets in Nazi Germany. Cheshire was chosen as the official British observer of the atomic attack on Nagasaki.
After the war he dedicated his life to maintaining world peace and founded the famous Cheshire Homes charity for disabled people.
