Marvel Comics: G.I. Joe Vol. 1 #139 (1994)

 

No company has exerted a greater influence on the G.I. Joe mythos than Marvel Comics. Spearheaded by writer Larry Hama, the Marvel issues created the personalities and conflicts that have defined G.I. Joe in the ensuing decades. Without Marvel, there would be no Cobra! Holding the G.I. Joe license until 1994, Marvel defined G.I. Joe for a generation of young children and even introduced the first crossover with Hasbro's sister property, The Transformers.

 

The Marvel G.I. Joe A Real American Hero (ARAH) series ran for 155 issue from 1982 until 1994. The main writer and creator was Larry Hama. This series was the lifeblood of the G.I. Joe universe. (In 2010, IDW continued the ARAH series
