 This is the first volume of Concord's new Mini Color Series. This will be the style of their upcoming books on modern armor vehicles. Included are 4 color profiles featuring camouflage and markings, and 1/35 scale line drawings showing top, side front and back views. The German Leopard 2 battle tanks form the backbone of NATO's armored units. An upgraded version of the Leopard 1 tank, the Leopard 2 has performance in par with the U.S. M1A1 Abrams tank, while the Leopard 2A5 is as good as the M1A2 tank. Fitted with the 120mm smoothbore gun, the Leopard 2 tanks are also in service with a number of European countries like Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, and Spain. 154 photos are packed in this book; all in action shots, with close-ups of insignia. The photos include all batches of Leopard 2 tanks, the newly service Leopard 2A5 KWSII, as well as the Bergepanzer armored recovery vehicle. This book is invaluable to modelers, as both Italeri and Revell have the Leopard 2 and Leopard 2A5 model kits in their program, in scales of 1/35 and 1/72.
