A Quiet Courage (1991) By Liane Jones
The story of the many female agents who were recruited and trained in Britain during the Second World War and then either parachuted or flown by Lysander into France at night. Once there they had to travel as Couriers, set up Resistance Cells and transmit information while trying to avoid the Gestapo, French Police and worst of all the Traitors in their midst. A formidable task and quite a few did not come back although the extreme danger did not deter any of them.
